In the previous blog, I shared with you the story of our main supplier – the company Schaeffler. Now I want to introduce you to one of our extremely important partners and one of the major users of these high-quality bearings - Elektroprivreda Srbije. Since the establishment of the Ljubex company, Elektroprivreda Srbije has been an important factor in our business story, and we provide top-quality bearings that support the vital systems of this important energy institution.

Joint-stock company "Elektroprivreda Srbije", known as the largest company in the country, occupies a prestigious place in the world of energy - the economic and energy support of the country. They are engaged in the production, supply and trade of electricity, all with a focus on the quality of services, preservation of the environment and support to the local community.

We would like to emphasize that our cooperation does not end only with the delivery of products. Our team of experts, engineers, including myself, carefully monitors every step of the installation process of the delivered bearings, as well as the control of the bearings after a certain number of working hours.

It is very important to share expertise and knowledge because that way we support each other. Therefore, I would like to describe the basic steps of installing a single large bore cylindrical bearing with a tapered bore.

1. Preparation

• It is necessary to establish that the bearing has been properly stored and packed. This implies that the bearing must be in its original packaging, placed in a horizontal position in a cool and dry place.
• Before unpacking, compare the mark on the bearing box with the mark on the assembly drawing - is the bearing suitable for the assembly in which it is installed.
• After opening the bearing, it is necessary to check the condition of the surfaces, whether there is surface damage - corrosion. If there is no damage, the overall dimensions of the bearing (inner diameter, outer diameter, width, radial gap of the bearing before assembly) should be checked and recorded in the accompanying document - measurement sheet.
• Before starting the installation of the bearing, the dimensions of the shaft and the bearing housing should be checked and whether they are suitable, undamaged and clean.

2. Installation of the bearing in the housing

• After preparation, the bearing should be installed in a suitable housing in workshop conditions - in a clean and dry place with an adequate work surface.
• Since it is a larger bearing, it is necessary to heat the housing. Then press the bearing with a hydraulic or mechanical press. Use the tool on the outer ring of the bearing.
• Never hit the bearing with a hammer.

3. Mounting the bearing on the shaft and installing the sleeve

• After successful installation of the bearing in the housing, the entire bearing unit should be positioned on the shaft.
• The following is the process of pressing the sleeve for tightening with a hydraulic or mechanical press in order to achieve the appropriate radial clearance of the bearing. When it comes to bearings with a larger inner diameter, never use a hammer.
• The radial clearance of the bearing is prescribed by the manufacturer and represents the clearance between the rolling elements and the outer ring of the bearing. Once the prescribed clearance is achieved, the complete installation is complete.
• This is followed by the process of filling the casing and bearings with a lubricant.

It is very important to follow all the above steps, because this significantly extends the life of the bearings.
